DESIGN
CONSIDERATIONS:
The following guidelines will help to select the best option.
1) MATERIAL AND SEAL:
The type of fluid being handled also determines loading assembly
material selection. Metallurgy, gaskets, Seals must be resistant
to the product and its temperature during handling. Refer
chemical resistant chart for further details.
2)
RANGE OF HANDLING:
The range of movement of loading arm should be capable of
reaching the farthest fill point.
3) LINE SIZE:
The line size is based on the maximum velocity of fluid as
15ft/sec. Additional components can easily be incorporated
into a loading arm to enhance its capabilities these include
valves, couplings, high level sensing devices and vapor recovery
attachments etc.
AMALGAMATED TAKES PRIDE IN ITS ABILITY
TO CUSTOM DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE LOADING ARMS FOR SPECIALISED
APPLICATIONS.
Types of Loadings arms
Traditionally bulk liquids have almost been loaded through
open manholes at the top of the tank. Top loading allows a
variety of different loading methods, techniques and a variety
of different loading arm configurations to be used. Amalgamated
manufactures our variety of styles of top loading arms.
1.
FIXED REACH (SINGLE ARM) LOADER.:
The fixed reach loader is designed specifically for
single compartment tanks, in dairy/ milk industries,
and railroad tank etc. The unit is made with a long
rigid tube, this LA is available in all carbon or
all stainless steel for chemical, petrochemical or
food services.

2.
SECONDARY ARM LOADER (PANTOGRAPH:)
Secondary arm or pantograph style loaders provide
greater versality of reach and are more rugged, last
longer and require less maintenance. They are recommended
for medium reach applications. |
3. WET LINE SECONDARY ARM
LOADERS:
This system has several advantages the operator can
observe the level of the product and after shut off
there is drainage only from the short drop tube rather
than the complete secondary arm. This type is used
in milk or drum fillers. |

4.
LONG RANGE (BOOM) LOADERS.:
Long-range loading arms are designed for heavy use and
high flow rates that are typical at large terminals. |
Special loading system:
Amalgamated engineers have developed a number of loading arms
for specialized service application if the application that
you have in mind does not quite fit with any model described
above please consult us. Our engineer can solve your specialized
loading problem.
Higher
pressure LPG loader:
This assembly is designed to handle liquid petroleum
gases like butane or propane gas through the side
or bottom of tank vessels. Swing joint assemblies
are made of steel with induction hardened ball bearing
raceways for long lasting service. |
